Beauty box maker Sams Beauty Supply, based in Toronto, has launched its first store in Montreal.
The new store, located at a mall near the Saks Beauty Centre, will be a small beauty supply chain for Canadian retailers, said the company’s vice-president of business development, Michael D’Entremont.
The store will have a smaller-scale presence in the city than the Sams store, but it will offer a wider variety of products, including a selection of skin care products and fragrances, D’ENTREMONT said.
The company’s products will be made available for purchase at its store, he said.
Montreal is an “incredibly popular place” for the company to expand, said D’ENEMONT, adding that the company is looking to expand to other Canadian cities in the future.
The Montreal store is the latest addition to the Sarsbeauty line, which has locations in London, London, Ont., Toronto, and Halifax.
The Sars brand is best known for its skin care line.
Sams was founded in the mid-1990s by a pair of brothers, Ben and David Hsu, and has a presence in Europe, Asia and the United States.
The chain currently has four locations in the United Kingdom, one in Australia and two in Canada.
The brand has more than 70 products in the U.S., with more than 100 in the Canada market.
Saks is owned by the family of billionaire Louis Vuitton heir Yves Saint Laurent, who is also the founder of the cosmetics and fragrance firm Balenciaga.
